Seriously, have you ever considered that?
I know I thought about it and thought about it and thought about it until finally I just did it. Seems like it took me forever to make that decision and now I wish I had made it so much sooner.
When you do a live retreat or a conference it really makes you put together all your material in a format that flows. It makes you look at what you should keep because it’s really great information and it also makes you realize what you can get rid of.
If you are like me, I had never even done power point before. I was 59 years old and never done power point! How did I miss that? That said, with the help of my wonderful VA we had great power points.
There was a lot of learning curves but learn them we did. And now this year it will be so much easier. We are so much smarter and experienced than last year!
There were some amazing things that happened at my first event. I learned I could really DO power point and how helpful it was. (Such as not having to memorized 2 ½ days worth of materialJ)
I learned how 12 women can come together not knowing each other and so quickly bond. They all had the same desire to build on-line businesses that they could design around their lives. There were women totally new to business and those with quite a bit of experience.
I learned how fast women can learn in a setting like this. Just being in person is so much more powerful than being in the virtual world I work in. The connections are different. The energy is different. The support of each other is different.
What I also learned is that as nervous and scared as I was, as much as this was a huge step forward for me, I had a blast. I left there that last day knowing I would be doing this again, and I am.
Sometimes in our businesses you have to take that big step, that big GULP and do it anyway.
When was the last time you really stretched out of your comfort zone? When was the last time you said “Wow, that is something that I could be doing and it would help my business grow” Either you stepped up or you didn’t. And I ‘didn’t’ for years and finally did.
I think there is more to it than just a business building exercise.
I know I grew as a woman. I grew as a business woman. I felt confident and strong and like I could now do other things that I had been putting off due to fear. The fear was actually false and I know that now.
I wonder what your next step is. Where can you look at your business (and your life) and see places where maybe you have been playing small. Is it time for that to change?
My coach’s request to you: Pick an area of your business (or your life, so often they are similar) and make the decision that you are going to go for the gold. Where can you stretch yourself, feel frightened or insecure and do it anyway. I would love to hear!!!
